Gene Curtis Arola, 65 years old, passed away May 24, 2022 at Miller Dwan Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, with his sisters, June and Diane at his side.

Gene was born March 15, 1957 to Milma and Hjalmer Arola.

He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and was a 1975 graduate of Falls High School.

Gene was employed as a chef at numerous local restaurants and in the Portland, OR. His gift to his family each Christmas was his delicious prime rib. His passions in life were camping and fishing.

Through his life, Gene heroically fought many health issues. Given the news his last one with cancer was terminal, he willingly accepted any treatments offered with always hope in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gene is survived by his brothers, Allen (Mary) Arola, Alden (Dr. Patricia) Arola; sisters, Mary (Ken) Shoberg, Diane (Mark) Seegert, June (Jim) Stavseth, Ruth (Alan) Mays; and his loving nieces and nephews.

A private family celebration of Gene’s life will be held at a later date.
