Each year members of the Voyageurs Riding Club raise money in a charity ride, with this year’s May 18 ride raising $600 to help send kids to Minnesota Elks Youth Camp during Troops Kids Week, when children of deployed troops and other military families experience the camp. Club Vice President Carl Jantzen said the club plans to make an annual event to help support troops week at the camp, located in Nisswa. Accepting the check is local Elks camp director Terry “Krazy” Thompson and Elks Exalted Ruler Kris Lassila. The Elks Youth Camp is the organization’s statewide project which allows kids, who may not get to go camping otherwise, the opportunity to experience it.CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
