John D. Slatinski Jr.

John D. Slatinski Jr. of Ericsburg, Minnesota died on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in Fargo, ND.

John was born on August 21, 1929 in International Falls, MN, the son of John D. Sr. and Etta (Muller) Slat inski . Af ter hi s schooling John spent time commercial fishing with his father, and logging in the woods, before working for DWP Railroad. He then went to work for Mando and also worked construction on the Iron Range. John then moved to Boise until 1991 when he moved back to Ericsburg.

John was united in marriage to Vera Pullar. This union was blessed with four sons and two daughters. The family made their home in Ericsburg where they owned and operated Slats Bar until 1996 when they retired.

John enjoyed fishing, hunting, blueberry picking, and outsmarting the game warden in his youth. John loved spending time fishing with Vera where he would always let her catch the most and biggest fish.

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vera; infant daughter, Carla Rae; sons, Ricky and Fred; grandson, Josh Slatinski; and sisters, Mitzi and Tiny.

John is survived by his children, John Slatinski III, Lorin Slatinski (Cheryl Anderson), Donna (Larry) Zurawski, daughter-in-law, Florence Slatinski; grandchildren, Vincent, Mike, Lamar, Misty (Gary), Trina (Kevin), John IV (Beth), Stacey (Bob), Nicole, Sidney, Millie, Rayne: and numerous greatgrandchildren; brother, Lavern Engebretson; sister, Janet Neimi; and special visitor, Makwa Slatinski.
