John William Smart, 70, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, died on Saturday May 7, 2022 at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Minneapolis, MN

He was born on September 25, 1951 in International Falls, MN.

John owned John’s Carpet and Floor Care and did business in International Falls from 1980-2002. In 2002 and started Smart Hardwood Floors and moved to Grand Rapids, MN.

His hobbies included fishing and playing the piano and violin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Clara Smart.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Smart; daughters Dana (Smart) King (Lucas King), Tara (Smart) Dorsett (Tom Dorsett), Shanna (Smart) Jackson (Titus Jackson) and son Jonathan Smart (Erin Smart); grandchildren Jade (Bullock) Wilcox (Sam Wilcox), Taylor Bullock, Maxwell and Louis Dorsett, Mcquade and Poppy Smart. He had 2 siblings, his brother Wayne Smart and sister Violet Mostad (Smart).
