Kathleen Ellen Cowlishaw, of International Falls, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society, International Falls. She was 79.

Kathy was born in Charles City, Iowa to Dan and Iva Mahoney. She married James “Jim” Cowlishaw on May 4, 1963.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Iva Mahoney; sisters, Alice (Vern) Uecker, Norma (Paul) Jacobs, Lucille (Phil) Gansen; and sons, Dan Cowlishaw, and Joseph Cowlishaw.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jim Cowlishaw; children, Julie (Jay) Bartkowski, David (Pam) Cowlishaw, Rachel Cowlishaw (Josh Taylor), Rebecca (Steve) Joslyn; along with grandchildren, John (Erika) Bartkowski, Jack and Jared Bartkowski, Kaitlyn and Kalleann Cowlishaw, Thomas (Andrea) Briggs, William (Katie) Briggs, Ethan and Liam Cowlishaw, Jacob (Liz) Joslyn, Christopher and Kevin Joslyn; and nine great-grandchildren.

Kathy was a member of the Catholic Daughters and a full-time Mom. She loved to fish, had a green thumb, made many great meals for family and friends, and always would share a laugh.

A memorial mass will be conducted at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 9:15 a.m. A luncheon will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Hall.

Interment will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in International Falls.
