Charles Howard Hoppe Sr., age 56, of International Falls, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Rainy Lake Medical Center, after battling leukemia for six years and being diagnosed with Covid-19.
Charles was born September 10, 1965 in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada to Herman and Muriel Hoppe.
He graduated from Vtech College for auto-body work. Charles worked for Bergstrom Wood Products for 25 years and then transferred to Friends Garbage for two years.
He loved being outside helping his sons with racecar and lawnmower races and spending time with his daughter around bonfires. He also loved going on road trips with his family, spending time on his land, and hunting with his sons. He loved helping anybody that needed help with anything that he could help with.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Muriel Hoppe; cousin, Tammy; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa; his sons, Dakota Hoppe and Charles (Jada) Hoppe Jr.; daughter, Angela (Isaac) Hoppe; soon to be one granddaughter, Savanna Lynn Hoppe; brother, Delbert (Alice) Hoppe; sister, Sandra (Delroy) Klemetsen; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
A memorial service will be held on February 2, 2022 at Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, there will be a luncheon at the VFW in International Falls.
