Edie Sandstrom, 97, of International Falls, Minnesota died of natural causes on January 17, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society – Northwinds Assisted Living in International Falls.

Edie was born in International Falls on August 25, 1924 to Edith and Greg Selsaas. She graduated from Old Falls High School in 1942. On August 31, 1943, she married the love of her life, Henrik “Chick” Sandstrom. They were married for sixty years.

Edie was preceded in death by her husband Chick; her parents; her only sibling, Norman Selsaas; two granddaughters, Dena Dilworth and Kari Olson Hoke; and her son-in-law, Dan Dilworth.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherelle Dilworth, Leslie (Mike) Olson; sons, Eric (Renee) Sandstrom, Kip Sandstrom; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Arlene Selsaas; and her two special nieces.

The family wishes to especially thank the wonderful staff of the Good Samaritan Society – Northwinds Assisted Living for the excellent care that they gave Edie.

No Service will be held.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Zion Lutheran Church or the Borderland Humane Society.
