Randy Kent Bernard gained his Angel Wings on January 13, 2023 at his home in International Falls at the age of 64 from COPD.

In recent years, Randy loved helping his neighbors with yard work, watching over his parents, riding his bike, taking the neighbor’s dog for walks, boating on Rainy Lake, spending time around bonfires, and last, but, not least, reading books. He was a very dedicated student of Native American culture and history and Northern Minnesota history. He was a keen observer of God’s beautiful creation of nature.

Randy was born to Ted & Vivian Bernard on April 10, 1958 in International Falls. In his early years, Randy was very active spending countless hours playing hockey with his friends and brothers at Carson Loopy rink. He played fast pitch softball, and even hit the slopes to do some downhill skiing.

Randy spent most of his adult life in Rock Springs WY working at the Jim Bridger Power Plant for many decades.

Randy married Linda Boes and they were blessed with two precious children that survive him, Travis (Devon) Bernard and Jennie Bernard (Jerry Forbes); two beloved grandsons Ayden Bernard and Chrishion Densen and special friends Charley and Sasha Forbes.

In addition, Randy leaves behind his mother, Vivian Bernard; siblings Delbert (Julie) Bernard, Barb Bernard, Cindy (Tom) Notch, nieces and nephews Amy (Ryan) Eilerts, Krista Bernard, Kim (Adam) Peters, Steve & Andrew Notch; great nephews Jacob & Caleb Peters and great niece Maddie Peters. He also enjoyed his many former in laws in the Boes family, cousins, extended family and friends.

Randy is preceded in death by beloved family members, his former wife, Linda Boes Bernard, father Ted Bernard, Brothers Ron and Todd Bernard, and Bonita Riveness.

Randy loved telling jokes and making people laugh and had no idea he was invading your 3 foot bubble because he was always up in your face telling his jokes.

Per Randy’s wishes, a future Celebration of Life will be announced in the spring time.
