Dixie Lee (Slate) Pullar

Dixie Lee (Slate) Pullar, 74, passed away January 28, 2022 in International Falls, Minnesota. She was born September 16, 1947 in Syracuse, Kansas to Harmany and Katherine (Lusk) Slate.

Dixie lived most of her younger years in Kendall, Kansas. There she attended school until she graduated in 1965.

She married Ralph Jury in August of 1964. To that marriage, two sons were born. They lived in Oxnard, California and Kingsville, Texas where Ralph served in the Navy.

She later married Pat Pullar and moved to International Falls, MN. She lived there until her death.

She is survived by her two sons, Ralph (Carol) Pullar, of International Falls and Ryan (Lin) Jury, of International Falls; granddaughters, Ashley Pullar, of Cook, MN and Emma (Jacob) Piekarski; great-grandson, Archer, of Naples, Florida; brother, Gene (Sue) Slate, of Lakin, Kansas; and sister, Sherley (Mike) of Lakin, Kansas

Ḋixie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Johnson; and niece, Michelle Slate.

After her sons went to the Navy, she went to college and got her nursing degree. She worked as a floor nurse and later the cardiac rehab nurse. She retired in the fall of 2015 after 28 years of service.

Dixie was a great cook. She could make you laugh until you cried. She loved her family and friends. Her favorite thing was playing cards with her girlfriends (sisters) Donna, Elaine, Betty, and Idella.

She will be deeply missed but her memory is our keepsake with which we will never part. God has her in His keeping and we will have her in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Junction on February 12, 2022. The potluck will be starting at 12:00pm. The address is 3491 MN Hwy 11, International Falls, Minnesota 56649.

Interment will be at a later date.
