Paul Robert Naland, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 21, 2022.
He was born to Harold and Mary Naland in St. Louis, Missouri on December 10, 1934. After serving in the Navy during the Korean War, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in forestry from the University of Missouri. He was the City Forester in Sioux City, Iowa, until becoming a U.S. Customs Inspector in 1969 and working on the border in International Falls until retirement.
Paul’s life revolved around His faith in Jesus Christ and his family. He attended Bible Studies throughout his life and gre a t ly valued the friendships and fellowship he found there. He was a member of First Covenant Church in Virginia, MN. His hobbies were many over the years, including gardening, construction, science, fishing, bonsai, biking, and going out for coffee. He will be missed and never forgotten.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth; wife, Patricia; and son, Robert.
He is survived by his children: Randy Naland of Eveleth, MN, Kathy Naland of Virginia, MN, Kristina Geer of Baudette, MN, and Karen Norman of Anoka, MN; and seven grandchildren.
