Duane Leland Mitchell, 90, of Int’l Falls, MN passed away on November 14, 2022 at St Luke’s Hospital in Duluth MN. Duane was born on February 13, 1932 in Ruthton, MN to Helen and Ira Mitchell. He attended school in Ortonville, MN where he graduated in 1950. Duane was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1952. He attended school for court reporting and was working at the Federal Reserve in Minneapolis where he met the love of his life Marilyn. He and Marilyn were married on June 5, 1954 and moved to Int’l Falls in 1961, where he was a district and Koochiching County court reporter in Int’l Falls for 40 years.

Duane enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved listening to music, dancing and singing. If he didn’t know the words, he just made them up as he went along. He was a proud member of Elks Lodge 1599 for over 40 years. Most of all he loved being with his family and spending time with his friends, who were like family to him.

He is preceded in death by his son Kevin, his sisters and brother in laws Audrey and Ed Baumgartner and Shirley and Dale Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marilyn, his son Kirby Mitchell (Debbie), his Daughters, Maureen Kucera (Randy) and Sharleen Mitchell (Marty). 8 grandchildren; Ryan Calder, Shanna Konerak, Ashley Mitchell, Kyle Calder, Erika Mitchell, Tyler Fentem, Hailey Fentem and Matthew Burri and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 19th 2022, 11:00 AM at Green-Larsen Funeral Home followed by a celebration of Life at Elks Lodge 1599.
