Ella Peterson

Ella Peterson, 96, of Littlefork, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2021 at the Littlefork Care Center with her children holding her hands.

Ella was born on November 27, 1925 in Littlefork and lived in Forsythe and Meadowbrook townships before moving to town in 1973.

She married Hjalmer Peterson on November 19, 1943 and they had two children, Ronald and Janice.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Hjalmer; parents, Anna and Eric Grotberg; and eight brothers and six sisters.

Ella is survived by her sister, Esther Gilmore of Las Vegas, NV.

She is survived by her son, Ronald (Carol) Peterson, of Richland, WA; daughter, Janice (Steve) Norgren, of Brighton, CO; grandsons, Chris (Teri) Peterson, Michael (Priti) Peterson, Keith Norgren, and Jason (Leslie) Norgren; great-grandchildren, Ellie Peterson, Andie Peterson, Ishaan Peterson, Vivek Peterson, Anders Norgren, her adopted family, Bruce and Lori Petersen, and their children, Eric, Brian, Daidrie, Kayla, and their families; special friends, Lynette Fiedler and Ronald Fiedler; and many nieces, nephews, and many more special friends.

The Friday night gathering was under the oak tree at Ella and Hjalmer’s house on Main St. where young and old alike were always welcomed. They loved children and always had treats for them.

Hjalmer and Ella spent their careers as farmers and loggers in Meadowbrook and later Ella worked for the Littlefork Hospital and Care Center as a cook and in procurement. She was a member of the Littlefork Evangelical Free Church.

In 2011, she moved to the Jackpine Chateau Assisted Living where she had many friends with residents and staff.

A special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff and management of the Chateau and Care Center.

The family has decided to celebrate her life with a memorial service in the summer of 2022. Details will follow when these arrangements have been made.
