Marilyn J. Keys, 80 years old, was born December 2,1942, to Evelyn and Selmer Mahle in International Falls, MN, and sadly left us on March 9, 2023. She attended school in International Falls, where she was a part of the pep squad, and graduated with the class of 1961.
Marilyn and Robert married on March 18th, 1965. Upon Robert’s discharge from the Air Force, he and Marilyn made their home in Jacksonville Beach, FL, where they owned and operated the Sea Ranch Motel and the Sea Mist Motel. Upon retirement from the hospitality industry, they moved to Jonesborough, TN. Marilyn enjoyed being involved in the Newcomers Club, Red Hat Society, and being with friends in her card groups. Marilyn and Robert spent their winters at the Old Mill Stream Campground in Umatilla, FL. She was involved in many gatherings and game groups. She also enjoyed going on cruises with friends from the Old Mill Stream Campground.
Family was important to Marilyn,and she played a significant role in our lives. She loved being involved in what family members were doing, and if she could not be present, she wanted to hear everything about them.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Selmer Mahle, brothers Oscar and John Mahle, parents-in-law Arie E. and James S. Keys, sisters-in-law Louise Wurster, Beverly Kuhns, Joan Harper and brothers-in-law Jack Keys and Jim Podlak.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Keys; her brother Dan (Maureen) Mahle; sisters Janice Podlak and Judy (Oliver) Boomgaarden; sisters-in-law Joan Mahle, Ruth Lucas, Dorothy Prang, and Arie Keys; brother-in-law James W. Keys; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews will miss her deeply.
